TL;DR

What you will do

  • Own system and electrical architecture for Flight Termination System components, including RF interfaces, control boxes, and destruct charges.
  • Define detailed system design, component selection, and reliability/fault tolerance specifications.
  • Execute system validation through HITL testing and flight test qualification.
  • Collaborate with regulatory partners and Range Safety to develop and maintain FTS certification requirements.
  • Design and analyze safety-critical circuits for ordnance initiation and command destruct receivers.
  • Lead qualification and acceptance testing of components under rigorous environments (shock, vibration, thermal) per MIL-STD-810.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience with electrical component design, system-level integration, or system-level testing.
  • Must meet ITAR requirements (U.S. person: citizen, green card holder, refugee, or asylee).
  • Strong background in RF link design, antenna integration, and EMI/EMC mitigation.
  • Deep familiarity with U.S. range safety standards (AFSPCMAN 91710, RCC 319, NASA 8719).
  • Experience designing and troubleshooting FTS hardware with flight avionics and ordnance devices.

Nice to have

  • Proficiency in MATLAB or Python for test automation and design analysis.
  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical devices, actuators, motors, or explosives.
  • Leadership experience on project or research teams.
