Avionics Systems Engineer (Aerospace): Serve as Responsible Engineer for avionics system design, performance, and hardware across computing, power system, instrumentation, RF components, GNC sensors, and harnessing on satellite bus with an accent on requirements capture, design trades, and integration into spacecraft systems. Focus on executing component and system testing, developing production infrastructure, and managing project risks under high-velocity production.
Location: Los Angeles, CA. Must be a U.S. Person per ITAR export control regulations
Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 + equity

What you will do
- Lead avionics system design, performance analysis, and hardware development across computing, power, instrumentation, RF, GNC sensors, and harnessing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to capture requirements, conduct design trades, and integrate into spacecraft systems
- Create technical documentation including diagrams, schematics, ICDs, procedures, and test reports
- Execute component and system testing through development, acceptance, qualification, and integration
- Support spacecraft integration, production issues, troubleshooting, and risk management
- Design and build avionics production infrastructure and write modular test/analysis/automation software in Python and Rust
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering (or equivalent)
- 2+ years experience in documentation, development, testing, and integration of space-grade avionics systems
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or protected individual) per ITAR
- Hands-on experience with environmental testing (thermal, TVAC, vibration, shock, radiation, EMI/EMC)
- Competence with electrical test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers)
- Strong presentation skills for technical design reviews (PDR, CDR, FRR)
Nice to have
- Proficiency with NX or similar CAD for electrical harness routing
- Expertise in PCB schematic capture and layout (Altium preferred)
- Experience with Linux, Bash, C++, MODBUS
- Vehicle-level testing including test procedures and data analysis
