Mechanical Engineering Intern

TL;DR

Mechanical Engineering Intern: Participate in product development, analysis, and testing with an accent on mechanical design, stress/thermal performance analysis, and fabrication of tooling/fixtures. Focus on designing experiments, validating processes/equipment, and interfacing with design teams to develop specifications.

Location: Onsite in Pleasanton, CA, US. This position requires compliance with ITAR regulations.

What you will do

• Complete basic project tasks including specifications, documentation, testing processes/equipment/materials/products, and validation.
• Assist in developing engineering standards and inventing concepts/designs for new products/processes/test methods.
• Design, procure, and fabricate simple tooling/fixtures; coordinate engineering tests/experiments.
• Prepare reports/documentation, complete engineering documentation tasks, and identify improvements/solutions.
• Perform stress, thermal, and performance analysis on parts/sub-systems; interface with designers for documentation/manufacturing specs.

Requirements

• Enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering University/College program.
• Hands-on experience valued highly.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks, basic detailing drawing concepts; GD&T desirable.
• Motivated, eager to learn industry concepts.
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills; team player.
• Visa sponsorship not available; must comply with ITAR regulations.
