Salary: $104,000-$125,000

What you will do
- Integrate tenant teams with the Event Bus and develop reusable patterns and tooling based on integration learnings.
- Own significant subsystems end-to-end, diagnose and resolve issues, and drive system improvements.
- Mentor junior engineers, participate in technical interviews, and communicate with team members and clients.
- Propose and evaluate technical and process improvements, present designs to stakeholders.
- Coordinate integrations with adjacent systems in a blended team environment focused on VA services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of engineering experience (or equivalent relevant experience)
- Extensive experience with software development, customer interactions, communication, and mentorship
- Expert-level knowledge in at least one technical area (backend, infrastructure, platform, or developer tooling)
- Strong generalist able to contribute in Java, Ruby, Node, Python, Go
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, modern CD systems (Argo CD or equivalent), and GitHub Actions
Nice to have
- Direct experience with Kafka or another distributed event platform
- Experience contributing to internal developer platforms
- Experience at large or bureaucratically complex organizations (government, healthcare, finance)
- Familiarity with FedRAMP / FISMA / ATO
