Focus on designing high-fidelity simulation methods, implementing AI/ML-assisted design tools, and solving complex thermal integrity issues.

Location: Hybrid: Must report to Warren, MI at least three times per week

What you will do

• Define and maintain the global technical vision and roadmap for FEAF and VTM3D virtual development.
• Develop and evolve the methods portfolio, including 1D/3D coupling and transient full-vehicle thermal analysis.
• Lead the deployment of new capabilities such as GPU acceleration and AI/ML-assisted estimators.
• Serve as the top-level technical reference for all programs, guiding trade-off decisions between airflow, packaging, and cost.
• Automate CAE workflows and integrate performance databases for benchmarking and requirements refinement.
• Mentor VDDV engineers and chair the Global FEAF/VTM3D Focus Group.

Requirements

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of engineering experience in CAE/CFD-based thermal or airflow development.
• Deep expertise with CFD tools (e.g., STAR-CCM+) and CAD/PLM (Teamcenter, NX).
• Proficiency in Python or similar scripting for CAE automation.
• Must not require immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
• Ability to travel up to 25% to proving grounds and test labs.

Nice to have

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Thermal/Fluids or CFD.
• Experience as a global focus group chair or VDDV Technical Specialist.
• Practical experience with AI/ML applications in CAE for surrogates and optimization.
