What you will do

• Define and drive observability strategy and roadmap, aligning with business and engineering goals.
• Design scalable observability capabilities for system health, performance, and user experience insights.
• Standardize best practices for monitoring, alerting, incident management, and postmortems organization-wide.
• Improve incident management, on-call practices, and post-incident learning for systemic enhancements.
• Lead cross-team initiatives to resolve systemic risks and boost end-to-end reliability.
• Leverage AI-assisted workflows and automation to accelerate root cause analysis and reduce toil.

Requirements

• Significant hands-on experience in observability engineering, SRE, or platform engineering with impact beyond individual teams.
• Strong expertise in monitoring and observability, especially hands-on with Datadog.
• Experience driving observability or reliability strategy across teams.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Strong software engineering skills in Go, Java, Python, or TypeScript; understanding of distributed systems.
• Experience with SLOs, SLIs, alerting strategies, and influencing technical decisions.

Nice to have

• Experience optimizing observability platforms for cost and scalability.
• Analytical skills to connect technical signals to business impact.
