What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure and AKS clusters supporting MSSQL workloads.
• Optimize Azure SQL Database and SQL Server on Azure VMs for performance, high availability, and disaster recovery.
• Build and maintain Azure DevOps pipelines to automate infrastructure and database deployments.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform in coordination with team standards.
• Collaborate with security teams to implement Azure Security Center best practices and Active Directory integration.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and participate in on-call rotations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering roles.
• Strong experience with MSSQL Server administration and optimization in Azure environments.
• Deep knowledge of Azure services: Virtual Networks, App Service, Azure SQL, and AKS.
• Proficiency in IaC tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, and Bicep.
• Must be based in or able to work in a hybrid model in Vancouver, Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience with SQL Server clustering in Azure and PostgreSQL Flexible Server.
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks relevant to Azure (SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI DSS).
• Relevant Azure certifications (Administrator, Solutions Architect, or Database Administrator).
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
