Senior Cloud Engineer

TL;DR

Senior Cloud Engineer (AWS/Azure/GCP): Design, build, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure supporting mission-critical workloads with an accent on IaC automation (Terraform), CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps integration. Focus on scalable resilient architectures, security best practices, compliance controls, and monitoring for space-grade operations.

Location: Los Angeles, CA. Must be a U.S. Person (citizen, permanent resident, or protected individual) per ITAR export control regulations.

Salary: $165,000 - $215,000 + equity

What you will do

• Design and implement IaC automation, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management for rapid secure deployments across environments.
• Collaborate with software, mission-ops, and DevOps teams to integrate cloud architecture into DevSecOps lifecycle.
• Establish IAM, encryption, network security, secrets management, and compliance controls.
• Monitor health, performance, costs; implement logging, alerting, capacity planning.
• Perform security assessments, threat modeling, vulnerability scans, audits; develop mitigation strategies.
• Create documentation and communicate architectures to teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in CS/IT or equivalent; 5+ years senior-level experience managing cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proficiency with IaC (Terraform, ARM/Bicep), CI/CD, scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Understanding of cloud-native services (VMs, Kubernetes, serverless, databases, networking).
• Deep knowledge of security: IAM, encryption, firewalls, secrets management, compliance.
• Must be U.S. Person per ITAR; familiarity with FedRAMP, CMMC, ITAR preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, cross-functional teamwork in fast-paced startup.

Nice to have

• Advanced cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps/Security, Kubernetes).
• Experience with hybrid/Gov-cloud, aerospace/defense workloads.
• GitOps, MLOps, HashiCorp Vault, ELK/Splunk, automated incident response.
