Senior PCBA Rework Technician

Senior PCBA Rework Technician (Avionics): Perform precision hand soldering and rework of printed circuit boards for satellite platforms with an accent on fine-pitch SMT components, BGA reballing, and IPC-7711/7721 standards. Focus on troubleshooting hardware failures, fabricating test harnesses, and supporting flight-quality avionics builds.

Location: Los Angeles, CA. U.S. Person required (ITAR compliance)

Hourly: $38–$48 + equity

What you will do

• Perform precision hand soldering and rework of PCBs, including 0402+ SMT components using hot air, micro-soldering, and reflow.
• Handle bottom termination components, modify traces/pads, and run jumper wires.
• Support subassemblies, fabricate test harnesses, and perform component kitting.
• Troubleshoot hardware with engineering teams and provide process improvement feedback.
• Train other technicians and maintain ESD-safe practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years soldering electronic components for PCBAs
• Proficiency with soldering irons, hot air tools for 0201/0402/BGA/QFN.
• Experience reballing/reworking fine-pitch BGAs to IPC-7711/7721 standards.
• Build/inspect flight-quality cable and harness assemblies.
• Follow schematics/instructions; familiarity with ESD.
• Physical ability: lift 50 lbs, stand extended periods, repetitive tasks
• U.S. Person per ITAR (citizen, green card, or protected individual)

• IPC-A-610/620, J-STD-001, NASA-STD-8739.3 certifications.
• Read/review/redline schematics and drawings.
• Potting/encapsulation techniques.
• Support environmental/functional testing of avionics.
