Senior Power Electronics Engineer (Aerospace)

Senior Power Electronics Engineer (Aerospace): Develop power electronics for large spacecraft with power systems ranging from 20kW to 100kW capability with an accent on high performance isolated converters, load switches, and radiation-hardened components. Focus on qualifying designs through environmental testing including vibration, shock, thermal vacuum, and EMI/EMC, developing performance models, and defining interfaces with spacecraft loads.

Must be U.S. Person per ITAR regulations. Onsite in Los Angeles, CA.

Salary: $160,000 - $210,000 + equity

What you will do

• Develop power electronics including switching and conversion components for harsh space environments.
• Serve as Responsible Engineer for flight hardware from conception through qualification and flight.
• Qualify designs via environmental testing: vibration, shock, thermal, thermal vacuum.
• Work with partners to define power system interfaces with spacecraft loads.
• Develop models to analyze and verify power system performance.
• Prototype high-power devices, execute testing, and design for future spacecraft generations.

Requirements

• Must be U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or protected individual per ITAR).
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• 5+ years professional design experience with power electronics (research/academic projects qualify).
• Proficient with circuit simulation tools such as LTspice.
• Experience with environmental testing for space electronics (thermal, vibration, TVAC, shock, radiation, EMI/EMC).
• Experience with kW-scale isolated power converters, load switches, power path protection, radiation environment component selection, filter design.

Nice to have

• Experience programming in C/C++, Python, or Matlab.
