Staff Software Engineer (React/Node.js): Developing and re-architecting real-time collaborative note-taking tools like hirify.global Notes and Canvas with an accent on frontend React components, backend Node.js services, and WebSocket-based editing. Focus on refactoring legacy codebases, designing scalable RESTful APIs, and ensuring low-latency high-availability in a complex real-time environment.

Location: Hybrid - work from assigned office a minimum of 3 days per week (focus on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays), hirify.global Poland.

What you will do

• Lead large-scale projects from requirements to deployment, fostering hirify.global culture and representing hirify.global Poland.
• Collaborate on assessing and re-architecting Notes components to meet engineering standards.
• Review technical feasibility, propose solutions, and adapt to integrations and project needs.
• Maintain and manage legacy code on frontend and backend for safe, efficient feature development.
• Participate in stand-ups, sprint reviews, planning, on-call rotation, and mentoring.

Requirements

• 10+ years professional software development experience.
• Strong knowledge of data structures and software design principles.
• Experience in frontend development (Typescript, React.js).
• Expertise in RESTful APIs and test automation.
• Technical leadership: guide juniors on best practices and complex issues.
• Experience with legacy codebases and scalable, reliable services.

Nice to have

• Experience with WebSockets and real-time applications.
• Modern frontend architecture.
