Data Platform Engineer (AWS/Snowflake)

TL;DR

Data Platform Engineer (AWS/Snowflake): Building and supporting a growing data ecosystem with an accent on data pipelines, analytics models, and cloud-based platforms. Focus on designing ingestion and transformation workflows using Python, SQL, and Snowflake to power global health insights.

Location: Hybrid (approximately 1 day per week onsite in Sandyford, Dublin, Ireland)

What you will do

• Build, maintain, and enhance data platform components and pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery using Python, SQL, and cloud tools.
• Develop and support analytics and data models in Snowflake using dbt or similar transformation frameworks.
• Implement testing, monitoring, and alerting to ensure data quality and operational health of the platform.
• Collaborate with analytics engineers, data scientists, and product teams to deliver trusted, well-modeled datasets.
• Support platform foundations for analytics, reporting, and early-stage ML/AI use cases.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement of engineering processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–6 years of experience as a data engineer, data platform engineer, or software engineer working with data systems.
• Working proficiency in SQL and experience with modern analytics platforms (Snowflake preferred).
• Experience developing data pipelines using Python and AWS services (S3, IAM, EC2/ECS/EKS, Lambda, Glue, EMR).
• Familiarity with dbt or similar data transformation frameworks.
• Proficiency with Git/GitHub and core software engineering practices (testing, debugging, code reviews).

Nice to have

• Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Dagster or Airflow.
• Exposure to streaming or event-driven systems such as Kafka or Kinesis.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
• Experience with ML/AI workflows.
• Experience working in regulated environments or on large-scale enterprise platforms.
