TL;DR

Lead Software Engineer (Unity): Providing technical leadership for UI engineering on Football Manager with an accent on the technical direction, quality, and delivery of UI systems. Location: Hybrid (2-3 days per week in studio), based in London, UK

What you will do

  • Provide technical leadership for UI engineering to ensure high-quality and performant systems across all platforms.
  • Own and evolve UI systems, tools, and workflows within Unity to improve iteration speed and developer experience.
  • Collaborate with UI design, production, gameplay, and QA teams to deliver cohesive user experiences.
  • Lead hands-on development, perform code reviews, and enforce engineering best practices.
  • Mentor and support UI engineers to grow their technical capabilities and promote good habits.
  • Contribute to planning and prioritization to ensure technical work is scoped and delivered on time.

Requirements

  • Significant professional experience developing complex UI systems in Unity using C#.
  • Strong understanding of UI architecture, data binding, and performance considerations.
  • Proven experience providing technical leadership and mentoring other engineers.
  • Experience shipping and supporting large, long-lived codebases.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines.
  • Must be able to work from the London studio 2-3 days per week.
