TL;DR

Desktop Support Technician Tier II (macOS/Windows): Provide hardware and software support to diversified end-users including VIPs with an accent on Mac and Windows OS, secure configurations, and ticketing. Focus on configuring devices, troubleshooting applications, and delivering face-to-face customer service.

Location: Bethesda, Maryland (onsite, heavy face-to-face support required)

Salary: $62,890.10 - $65,884.87 yearly

What you will do

  • Provide hardware and software support to staff and end-users
  • Configure, install, and support desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
  • Deliver enhanced VIP desktop and user support
  • Secure IT devices with software installations, updates, and configurations
  • Support NIH-provided applications
  • Manage IT tickets using a ticketing system, assign, resolve, and close

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s + 2 years IT support, Associate + 6 years, or HS + 8 years experience
  • Experience with MacOS and Windows (incl. Windows 11); strong customer service for face-to-face support
  • 3+ years in Microsoft suite technical support
  • Ticket system experience (ServiceNow preferred)
  • Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance
  • Certification required within 3 months: ITIL, MTA/MCSA/MSCE, Apple certs, CompTIA A+/Network+/Security+, or JAMF
