What you will do

• Implement well-defined tasks and smaller features under guidance of Middle/Senior developers.
• Communicate with team members and report blockers promptly.
• Fix bugs in assigned features with team support.
• Write unit tests for developed code.
• Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies.
• Continuously learn and onboard to team processes and codebase.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience building backend systems.
• At least 1 year of experience working with Scala or strong JVM language background (Java, Kotlin) with eagerness to transition to Scala.
• Basic understanding of RESTful API concepts, Scala ecosystem (SBT, basic Akka or Play Framework), messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ), microservices architecture, containerisation (Docker), software design patterns, data structures, algorithms, database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English (B1+/B2).
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment, eagerness to learn, self-organised with proactive problem-solving.

Nice to have

• Strong interest in applying AI-powered tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor) to speed up development, code generation, refactoring, debugging, test creation, documentation.
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, ZIO/Typelevel stack (CATS), Couchbase DB, ElasticSearch, gambling/online gaming, TDD.
• Exposure to cloud services (AWS, GCP) and DevOps tools (CI/CD pipelines).
