Senior Backend Engineer (AdTech)

TL;DR

Senior Backend Engineer (Java/Kotlin/Go): Developing high-scale, low-latency infrastructure for real-time native and display ad auctions with an accent on high-throughput distributed systems and auction efficiency. Focus on optimizing real-time auction logic and building scalable demand integrations for a platform processing billions of daily requests.

Location: Hybrid (3 days per week in the office), Netanya, Israel

What you will do

• Research, develop, and deploy experiments, features, and enhancements for high-impact serving infrastructure.
• Design and optimize real-time auction logic to improve monetization and auction efficiency.
• Build scalable demand integrations and ensure supply quality for a system processing billions of ad requests daily.
• Create, design, test, and monitor production code autonomously and reliably.
• Collaborate with Engineering Managers and Product Managers to frame and execute critical projects.
• Propose and implement new technologies and architectures to solve complex technical puzzles at scale.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in Backend development.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or Go.
• Extensive experience working with large-scale, high-throughput distributed systems.
• Significant expertise in application architecture, performance, and maintainability.
• Hands-on production knowledge of release cycles, observability, and troubleshooting.
• Must be based in or able to work from Netanya, Israel.

Nice to have

• Experience with MySQL, BigQuery, Cassandra, Redis, or Memcached.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or On-prem Kubernetes.
