What you will do

• Create concept art, environment designs, and set designs for project concepts.
• Generate sketches, rough explorations, and final environment concepts across all development stages.
• Develop turnarounds, floor plans, and layout studies to support spatial storytelling and production.
• Produce 2D and/or CG visual development models to explore scale and cinematic staging.
• Conduct visual and narrative research to ensure environments are grounded and story-driven.
• Collaborate with the Production Designer and art department to maintain visual continuity and quality.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in environment design/visual development on animated feature films.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
• Strong understanding of architecture, perspective, composition, and spatial design.
• Must be, or be willing to become, a member of The Animation Guild Local 839.
• Ability to present work clearly and iterate effectively based on creative feedback.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of Autodesk Maya, Blender, or ZBrush.
• Experience with textures and surface details.
