What you will do

  • Define the architecture and front-end standards for the future of the Basis application.
  • Drive large-scale technical projects that depend on multiple teams and systems.
  • Build and maintain design systems, front-end utilities, and core UI standards.
  • Mentor other engineers through pull requests, demos, and high technical standards.
  • Execute significant architectural changes and sunset legacy systems to improve performance.
  • Identify risks and blockers during planning and align technical implementation with business goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of professional software experience.
  • Solid understanding of JavaScript, React, state management, routing, and web accessibility.
  • Expertise in design systems, reusable components, and modern tooling (NPM, Webpack/Vite, micro-frontends).
  • Fluency with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, etc.) as a core part of the development workflow.
  • Ability to diagnose and fix performance bottlenecks in code.
  • Must be based in the United States or Canada.
