What you will do

• Design enterprise-wide governance architecture for metadata, lineage, data quality, and AI-ready data foundations.
• Translate enterprise data principles into practical architectures, standards, and patterns for over 40 squads.
• Guide the implementation of governance controls across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid platforms.
• Design and evolve data marketplace capabilities to improve discoverability, reuse, and trust of data products.
• Integrate governance, platform engineering, and generative AI to ensure responsible and scalable AI usage.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in software, platform, or data engineering, or solution architecture.
• At least 5 years of experience designing complex architectures in cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
• Solid hands-on experience with data governance (metadata, lineage, data quality, policy implementation).
• Experience with data marketplace, cataloguing, and stewardship concepts.
• Strong familiarity with open-source data governance and platform technologies.
• Must be based in or able to work in a hybrid setup in Utrecht, NL.

Nice to have

• Background as a software or platform engineer prior to moving into architecture.
• Experience with modern metadata ecosystems, knowledge models, or internal data platforms.
• Familiarity with the Linux Foundation AI & Data landscape.
• Experience designing data and context foundations for RAG, copilots, or intelligent agents.
