About the Role

You will produce media materials (pitches, press releases, key messages, Q&As, fact sheets, and media lists), develop and execute media relations programs, and lead outreach to reporters and producers to secure coverage. You will run research initiatives, monitor and report coverage, handle account management and client correspondence, and serve as a primary client contact. You will provide strategic counsel by identifying opportunities and risks, monitoring competitor activity and industry narratives, and proposing better approaches when needed.

Requirements

• 2-4 years experience in media relations, professional communications, strategic consulting, or a related field
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Growth mindset and desire for continuous self-improvement
• High emotional intelligence
• Passion for learning
• Team-first orientation, humility, and thoughtfulness
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with blockchain, crypto, or fintech
• Previous experience in a communications or creative agency, consultancy, or client-service environment (nice to have)
• Expert knowledge of blockchain/crypto or crypto-native experience in DeFi and infrastructure sectors (nice to have)

Responsibilities

• Produce media materials including media pitches, press releases, key message documents, Q&As, fact sheets, and media lists
• Develop media relations programs based on client strategic plans and scopes of work
• Lead media outreach to reporters and producers at high-value outlets
• Conduct research initiatives to inform media pushes and long-term plans
• Monitor, track, and report media coverage of clients and industry peers
• Handle account management and client correspondence including project tracking, status reports, and calls
• Serve as a key point of contact on calls, Slack, and email
• Provide strategic counsel by identifying opportunities and risks and recommending actions
• Push back on client requests that do not serve strategic interests and propose better paths
• Support team members and contribute to team service and collaboration
