Multiplayer Systems Engineer (Unreal Engine/C#): Building online systems that enable multiplayer games, including matchmaking, session flows, and player data with an accent on client-server communication and dedicated server logic. Location: Hybrid in Loveland, Colorado (preferred 4 days/week onsite). Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship is provided.

Salary: $125,000 – $155,000 Annually

What you will do

  • Implement multiplayer features and client-server logic using C++ and Blueprints in Unreal Engine.
  • Develop backend services in C# to support matchmaking, sessions, authentication, and player data.
  • Build REST endpoints and manage NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Redis for efficient data handling.
  • Design and implement logic for dynamic dedicated server instancing, including session allocation and region selection.
  • Debug and profile complex performance issues across the full multiplayer path between client, server, and backend.
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, and QA to maintain smooth online feature integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience building multiplayer games or connected online systems.
  • Strong proficiency in C++, C#, and Unreal Engine 4 or 5.
  • Deep understanding of multiplayer networking fundamentals, replication, and latency mitigation.
  • Experience integrating backend services with game clients and dedicated servers.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA (no visa sponsorship available).

Nice to have

  • Experience shipping games built with Unreal Engine or working on games-as-a-service.
  • Experience managing dynamically spawned Unreal Engine dedicated server instances.
  • Knowledge of cloud-hosted game server fleets, matchmaking algorithms, or load testing.
  • Familiarity with authentication systems and telemetry.
