TL;DR
Head of Compliance & MLRO (Fintech): Establishing and leading a “compliance-by-design” framework for ADGM licences (Category 3A and 3B) to ensure regulatory standing for an API-driven brokerage. Focus on AML/CFT programs, Virtual-Asset controls, and the integration of reg-tech automation.
Location: Remote, must be based in the UAE

What you will do
- Chair the internal Compliance Committee and deliver quarterly reports to the Board.
- Maintain a live register of FSRA rules (GEN, COBS, PRU, AML) and update policies promptly.
- Own the AML/CFT programme, conduct risk assessments, and ensure "Travel Rule" compliance for virtual assets.
- Oversee blockchain-analytics and maintain the Accepted Virtual Asset list according to FSRA requirements.
- Specify and integrate KYC/AML engines, sanctions screening, and trade-surveillance tools into APIs.
- Act as the single point of contact for FSRA onsite reviews and enforcement queries.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Law, Finance, or Business with a recognized compliance credential (e.g., ICA, ACAMS, CISI).
- Professional certification: UAE Financial Rules & Regulations exam (CISI/ADGM Academy).
- 7+ years in compliance/AML at a broker-dealer or VASP, with 3+ years in a senior regulated capacity.
- Deep knowledge of GEN, COBS, PRU, AML Rulebook, and FSRA Virtual-Asset Guidance.
- Language: Fluent in English and Arabic.
- Ability to maintain a full-time, independent function as required by Condition 7.
Nice to have
- Prior registration as Compliance Officer/MLRO with FSRA, DFSA, or SCA.
- Hands-on experience with chain-analytics, FATF Travel-Rule gateways, and ISO 27001/NIST frameworks.
- Exposure to tokenised securities, stablecoin programmes, or cross-border brokerage.
