What you will do

• Define and drive the performance and reliability engineering strategy for cloud-native distributed systems.
• Design and implement frameworks and infrastructure for large-scale performance testing and system analysis.
• Establish performance baselines, SLIs/SLOs, and measurable standards across services.
• Integrate performance testing into CI/CD workflows and mentor engineers on system-level thinking.
• Analyze latency distributions and throughput to identify bottlenecks across application, infrastructure, and data layers.
• Influence overall system design by advocating for scalability and production readiness.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software, performance, or backend engineering.
• Proficiency in Go, Java, or Python for building system-level tooling.
• Deep expertise in performance testing methodologies (load, stress, soak, spike) and workload modeling.
• Experience with distributed systems and observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
• Strong understanding of Linux systems and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S).
• Must be based in the United States (Hybrid role).

Nice to have

• Experience with load testing frameworks like k6, Locust, or Gatling.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure behavior under load.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Background in SaaS or security-sensitive identity systems.
