FPGA Intern (SpaceTech)

TL;DR

FPGA Intern (Hardware Engineering): Developing RTL for FPGA-targeted applications for advanced satellite communications with an accent on high-throughput systems and peripheral interfacing. Focus on implementing Verilog/SystemVerilog logic and testing RTL in hardware.

Location: San Francisco, USA. US Citizenship or Green Card is a strict legal requirement.

What you will do

• Develop RTL for FPGA-targeted applications.
• Interface FPGAs with high-speed data converters, memories, and MCUs.
• Write software to interface and test RTL in hardware.
• Collaborate closely with electrical and software engineering teams.
• Work across multiple FPGAs and toolchains.

Requirements

• US Citizenship or Green Card (Legal Requirement; no exceptions).
• Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience designing, implementing, and testing high-throughput FPGA systems.
• Proficiency with Verilog/SystemVerilog for synthesis.
• Passion for hands-on hardware design and development in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with UVM, advanced SystemVerilog verification, and Xilinx FPGAs (Vivado IDE, TCL).
• Knowledge of digital communication theory, including LDPC implementations and RF/IF/IQ domains.
• Experience with high-speed data converters (ADCs, DACs, JESD204B).
• Experience with space-based systems or circuit-level debugging.
• Expertise in a secondary domain such as DSP, radio design, or hi-rel design.
