What you will do

• Design signal processing for custom software defined radio hardware, including channelization and synchronization.
• Collaborate with FPGA developers to implement and test signal processing on radio hardware.
• Model the end-to-end radio system from earth to space and back.
• Conduct radio architecture trade studies and run link budgets.
• Optimize the radio system for maximum performance across various global markets and use cases.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled at a four-year university.
• Strong fundamentals in signals and systems (transforms, filters, aliasing, discrete domains).
• Strong fundamentals in digital communications (modulation, coding, synchronization, fading).
• Experience writing software for DSP, MCU, and/or FPGA, and proficiency in scripting languages.
• Familiarity with analog concepts and experience using signal generators, analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
• US Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status required.

Nice to have

• Experience with software defined radios (SDR).
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with GNU Radio.
• Experience with FPGA development or embedded C.
