Location: Hybrid (M/F remote, T/W/TH in-office) in Los Angeles, CA or Broomfield, CO; also open to West Coast Remote

Salary: $115,000 – $135,000

What you will do

• Design, develop, and release APIs that power reporting and analytics applications.
• Create intuitive APIs with clear OpenAPI contracts, versioning strategies, and strong SLAs/SLOs.
• Ensure high code quality through rigorous testing, observability, and pragmatic documentation.
• Own production services, including managing dashboards, alerting, and capacity/load testing.
• Collaborate with Product, UI, and Data engineers to translate requirements into delivered features.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in modern Java (latest JVM) for high-throughput, low-latency backend services.
• Hands-on experience with Postgres (modeling, migrations, indexing, and query optimization).
• Proficiency with Git/GitHub and modern team practices like trunk/branch strategies.
• Exposure to cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and container orchestration via Docker/Kubernetes.
• Must be based in the United States (specifically CA, CO, or West Coast for remote options)

Nice to have

• Experience with asynchronous programming and frameworks such as Vert.x and Dropwizard.
• Knowledge of event-driven or streaming architectures.
• Understanding of authN/Z patterns (OAuth2/JWT), rate limiting, and API security.
• Experience with Real-Time Bidding (RTB), SSPs, DSPs, and ad delivery systems.
