What you will do

• Design and implement secure-by-default platform controls for APIs and services.
• Build scalable security enforcement layers such as gateways, middleware, and policy engines.
• Standardize security patterns to reduce custom implementations across services.
• Integrate security controls directly into developer workflows and platform abstractions.
• Identify recurring risks and translate them into reusable platform primitives.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to embed security early in the development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background with experience in distributed systems (Go or Python preferred).
• Experience designing security controls (authentication, authorization, API or infrastructure security).
• Proven track record of building shared infrastructure, internal platforms, or frameworks.
• Knowledge of modern identity and trust boundaries (mTLS, service identity, API gateways).
• Must be eligible for required authorizations from the US government to conform to US export control regulations.

Nice to have

• Experience with zero trust architectures or service-to-service security models.
• Familiarity with policy-based systems or large-scale access control models.
• Experience with sandboxing or agent-based systems for non-deterministic workloads.
• Ability to use observability and telemetry to drive security insights.
