What you will do

• Design and develop complex software solutions and calculation engines within ETL pipelines.
• Engineer scalable APIs and microservices to translate customer goals into working software.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and frontend engineers to define solution architectures and API designs.
• Perform software and data architecture for domains ranging from Research and Investments to Sales and Marketing.
• Mentor other engineers through code reviews and the implementation of software engineering best practices.
• Develop configurations and automations to enable testing, infrastructure, and deployments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in dynamic languages (Python, Ruby, JavaScript) and static languages (C#, Java, C/C++, TypeScript).
• Experience with data engineering, web/mobile application development, or systems/security software.
• Must be based in the Austin Metro area.
• English: Fluent and idiomatic writing proficiency required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Redis, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or SQLServer.
• Knowledge of Airflow, Kafka, AWS, and serverless/microservice architecture.
• Experience with TDD, BDD, and libraries such as Numpy, Scipy, or Pandas.
• Financial services industry experience.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
