Application Support Engineer (Mainframe): Supporting and maintaining mainframe-based applications in the payments domain with an accent on incident handling, problem management, and lifecycle improvements. Focus on analyzing mainframe data, collaborating with stakeholders in SAFe Agile ceremonies, and ensuring system stability, performance, and SLA compliance in production environments.

Location: elastic hybrid from Gdańsk (at least 2 days per week from the office)

Salary: 800 - 1050 PLN/day on B2B

What you will do

• Support and maintain mainframe-based applications in production environments
• Handle incidents, problems, and service requests according to SLA and quality standards
• Participate in application lifecycle management and drive continuous improvements
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver changes, enhancements, and sustainable solutions
• Contribute to backlog refinement and SAFe Agile ceremonies
• Improve system stability, performance, reliability, and alignment with business requirements

Requirements

• Daily interaction with English in international environment
• Strong hands-on experience with IBM Mainframe (z/OS) in operational environments
• Solid knowledge of DB2 including data analysis and querying
• Experience with JCL and workload automation tools (e.g., TWS/OPC)
• Ability to analyze and work with mainframe files (including hexadecimal data)
• Understanding of application maintenance, incident, and problem management processes
• Familiarity with Agile/SAFe methodologies
• Knowledge of payments domain (SWIFT, MT940/950, camt.052/053, transactions, statements)
• Experience with system monitoring and production support
