Senior Systems Engineer (SIE) (AWS/PLM): Standing up and maintaining AWS infrastructure supporting PLM software implementations with an accent on security, functionality, performance, and scalability for DoD customers. Focus on automating workloads with Ansible playbooks, administering RDS Oracle/PostgreSQL databases, applying patches/upgrades, and optimizing containerized solutions.

Location: Hybrid in St. Paul, MN Requires active U.S. national security clearance, U.S. citizenship, and ability to obtain/maintain it. Travel required 1-2 times per month to customer/subcontractor sites.

Salary: 131,000 - 165,000 USD per year (Saint Paul, MN)

What you will do

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business/security requirements into AWS infrastructure solutions emphasizing performance, scalability, and cost savings.
• Implement and refine cloud infrastructure including load balancers, backups, and transitions to containerized/cluster setups.
• Automate with Ansible playbooks, secure applications via PKI/TLS/SSL, and manage secure authentication.
• Administer RDS Oracle/PostgreSQL databases: seeding, schema config, scripting, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Install/upgrade PLM software, apply patches/security fixes, manage rehosts/data refreshes, and conduct testing.
• Debug complex defects, maintain documentation, and stay certified in PLM/cloud/security tech.

Requirements

• Active U.S. security clearance and U.S. citizenship required.
• Security+ and relevant AWS certifications.
• Bachelor’s in IT, CS, software/engineering; 5+ years AWS for enterprise apps.
• Ansible playbooks, AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Fleet Manager, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch), Active Directory, AppStream.
• Red Hat Linux 8+/Windows Server admin (CLI), databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server), networking diagnosis.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, documentation; independent/team work; interest in PLM apps.

Nice to have

• Code in Java, Python, C++/C#.
• Agile certs, aerospace/defense knowledge, DoD policies, RMF compliance.
• Admin of PLM apps (PTC Windchill, Siemens Teamcenter, etc.).
