Verification Engineer

Verification Engineer (Embedded Hardware): Verify products against design requirements and support design improvements with an accent on testing technologies including Ethernet, PCIe, Microcontrollers, FPGA, and interfaces like SPI, I2C, RS232, RS485, MIL-STD-1553. Focus on developing test plans, executing firmware and hardware verification, environmental testing, debugging issues, and ensuring compliance with standards.

Location: Hybrid from Theale, Reading office or Colchester, Essex head office (UK). Subject to BPSS security clearance.

What you will do

• Verify products against design requirements and support improvements.
• Test Ethernet, PCIe, Microcontrollers, FPGA, and interfaces (SPI, I2C, RS232, RS485, MIL-STD-1553).
• Conduct firmware and hardware testing using specifications, execute test plans and cases.
• Develop and maintain test plans, strategies, and coverage; analyze results and document findings.
• Debug issues, perform root cause analysis, track defects, and conduct environmental testing (thermal, vibration, humidity, shock).
• Collaborate with engineering teams on test strategies, ensure standards compliance, and optimize test processes.

Requirements

• Located in or able to work hybrid from Theale, Reading or Colchester, Essex (UK); eligible for BPSS security clearance.
• Linux and basic scripting/programming.
• Understanding of verification and qualification methodologies.
• Experience with embedded systems and lab equipment (oscilloscope, DMM, logic analyzer).
• Understanding of electronics safety, hardware single board computers, Intel CPUs, x86_64/ARM/RISC-V architectures.
• Good communication, teamwork, organizational skills, strong analytical abilities for testing and defect analysis.
