Senior Software Engineer

TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (Go/Java): Building and optimizing DNS gateways and distributed key-value stores for enforcing security policies and handling hundreds of millions of daily requests with an accent on real-time threat blocking, low-latency edge reads, and scalability. Focus on preparing for traffic growth, improving observability, and integrating AI-assisted development workflows.

Location: Hybrid in Brno, Czech Republic. Must be based in the Czech Republic or have sponsorship to live and work there.

What you will do

• Develop and scale backend services on AWS EKS, including DNS infrastructure for security policies, content filtering, and threat blocking.
• Maintain distributed key-value store using Raft consensus for low-latency operations at edge locations.
• Improve operational tools like dashboards, alerting, runsheets, and synthetic monitoring.
• Shape engineering workflows around AI-assisted development, evaluating tools like Claude Code.
• Contribute to cross-team initiatives, knowledge sharing, and on-call rotation.
• Collaborate with product teams to raise engineering standards.

Requirements

• Must be based in the Czech Republic or have sponsorship to live and work there.
• Solid experience in at least one strongly typed language (Go, Java, C++, C#, Rust, or similar).
• System design expertise in distributed systems, failure modes, consistency, and scaling to 10x traffic.
• Real experience with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Copilot) in production work.
• Backend experience at scale with high-throughput services and observability.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and ability to learn new languages/domains quickly.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with DNS, Kubernetes, or AWS.
