What you will do

• Design overall safety architectures for autonomous systems and identify system-level risks.
• Analyze safety boundaries and dependencies across perception, localization, planning, control, and communication modules.
• Lead functional safety analysis and verification, including failure modes, abnormal conditions, and fault handling logic.
• Execute system-level safety tests using HIL, SIL, and real-vehicle verification to ensure logic coverage.
• Support on-site deployment, debugging, and the creation of safety SOPs and emergency response plans.
• Collaborate with algorithm and system teams to implement continuous safety improvements based on field data.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Vehicle Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or Robotics.
• 5+ years of experience in autonomous driving (mining or automotive) or complex system safety.
• Deep understanding of autonomous system architectures (perception, localization, planning, control, and backend).
• System-level thinking with the ability to analyze safety issues holistically.
• Must be based in or able to work in Shanghai, China.

Nice to have

• Experience with autonomous trucks, mining equipment, or construction machinery.
• Familiarity with functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 and SOTIF.
• Prior experience in field operation, delivery, or maintenance safety.
