What you will do

• Shape Research group strategy, focusing on scaled engineering, infrastructure stacks, and compute resources.
• Own high-level Research work-streams, aligning priorities with stakeholders and defining technical roadmaps.
• Design and optimize scalable ML models to solve real-world physics and engineering problems.
• Implement distributed training architectures (data parallelism, parameter servers) using cloud and on-premise services.
• Translate research prototypes into robust, reusable libraries, tooling, and production-ready products.
• Mentor junior colleagues and foster a productive, collaborative engineering environment.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, ML, Physics, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of professional industry experience scaling and optimizing ML/foundation models.
• Expertise in distributed computing (Spark, Dask) and HPC frameworks (MPI, CUDA, Triton).
• Proficiency in Python (PyTorch, JAX, NumPy, Pandas) and C++ for scientific computing.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Slurm).
• Must be based in or able to work from the London office (Hybrid).
