Senior Data Engineer

TL;DR

Senior Data Engineer (Databricks): Design and build scalable batch and streaming data pipelines on Databricks and AWS with an accent on Unity Catalog governance, lineage, and access control. Focus on shaping long-term data platform strategy, ensuring data quality and reliability, and mentoring engineers on best practices.

Hybrid in Stockholm, Sweden (at least three days a week in the office)

What you will do

• Design and build robust, scalable batch and streaming data pipelines on Databricks
• Own and develop Unity Catalog implementation for governance, lineage, and access policies
• Shape long-term data platform strategy and tooling
• Ensure quality, performance, and reliability of data products
• Collaborate with product, analytics, and commercial teams
• Mentor engineers and champion best practices like clean code, testing, and observability

Requirements

• 5+ years in data engineering with senior or lead experience
• Strong hands-on with Databricks and PySpark
• Solid understanding of Unity Catalog, data governance, and access control
• Deep knowledge of AWS cloud services
• Hands-on with streaming frameworks
• Strong Python programming (Scala/Java a plus)
• Familiarity with data modeling, versioning, and orchestration tools

Nice to have

• Infrastructure as code and CI/CD experience
• Focus on developer experience and platform scalability
• Contributions to open-source or internal communities
