Senior Software Engineer (DevOps)

TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (DevOps): Developing and maintaining the Synergy platform focused on stability, security, and robustness with an accent on cloud-native technologies and Kubernetes orchestration. Focus on building custom Docker images, configuring Istio service mesh, and implementing scalable technical solutions.

Location: Bucharest, Romania (Hybrid). Must have lived in a NATO and/or an EU country for the past seven years and present a clean criminal record for security clearance.

What you will do

• Install and configure applications in Kubernetes using Helm and manage resource modifications via shell scripting.
• Build custom Docker images and configure Istio service mesh, OIDC, and OAuth2.
• Drive the implementation of complex development tasks with a focus on quality and reliability.
• Break down large features into actionable tasks and collaborate with architects to ensure scalable solutions.
• Provide 3rd-line support to customers and mentor junior colleagues through technical sparring.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a similar DevOps or Software Engineering role.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C#) and Bash scripting.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Istio, and Git.
• Knowledge of monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Fluent-bit/FluentD) and databases (PostgreSQL, OpenSearch).
• Must have lived in a NATO/EU country for the past 7 years and have a clean criminal record.

Nice to have

• Experience with Porter, FluxCD/ArgoCD, Vault, Keycloak, or Terraform.
