What you will do

• Develop a Shopify app to ingest and normalize raw catalog data into structured product attributes.
• Build a natural-language discovery layer to handle ambiguous shopper intent more effectively than keyword search.
• Create an agent feed or API that allows external AI systems to reason over product data.
• Design catalog enrichment systems combining deterministic structures with model-based reasoning.
• Build search, retrieval, and ranking loops for both human shoppers and AI agents.
• Iterate rapidly based on merchant feedback to fix catalog quality issues.

Requirements

• Strong full-stack execution skills, particularly Python for backend and modern web frameworks for frontend.
• Demonstrated experience building GenAI products, specifically regarding retrieval, orchestration, and evals.
• Experience with ecommerce infrastructure, Shopify apps, semantic search, or knowledge graphs.
• Must have US work authorization (no visa sponsorship provided).
• Must be located within commuting distance of Mountain View, CA.

Nice to have

• Experience with product taxonomy, entity resolution, embeddings, or data quality tooling.
• Background in merchandising or search.
• Previous experience as a founder or founding engineer.
