Security Engineer (Cloud Security)

TL;DR

Security Engineer (Cloud Security/GCP): Designing and implementing secure architectures and hardening Kubernetes environments within GCP to protect a regional digital ecosystem with an accent on cloud-native security and access control. Focus on building a Zero Trust access model, tuning WAF solutions, and mitigating real-world cloud-native attack vectors.

Location: Remote (Global). Work schedule: Sunday to Thursday, GMT +3 timezone. Potential relocation to Doha, Qatar.

What you will do

• Design and implement secure architectures in GCP and harden GKE clusters across network, workload, and access layers.
• Build and operate a Zero Trust access model based on Zero Trust Architecture.
• Configure, tune, and maintain WAF solutions such as Cloudflare, Google Cloud Armor, and F5.
• Implement security logging, monitoring, and detection use cases for cloud-native environments.
• Lead incident response efforts, including triage, containment, and root cause analysis.
• Partner with DevOps and Engineering teams to integrate security into infrastructure via Terraform.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience securing GCP environments (IAM, VPC security, Org Policies, Security Command Center).
• Solid experience securing Kubernetes/GKE (RBAC, network policies, workload isolation, OPA/Kyverno).
• Practical experience with ZTNA (Cloudflare Access, Zscaler) and protocols like OAuth2, OIDC, and JWT.
• Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Good understanding of web and API security based on OWASP Top 10.
• Ability to align with a Sunday to Thursday work schedule in the GMT +3 timezone.

Nice to have

• Experience with F5 WAF solutions and advanced rule tuning.
• Experience with runtime monitoring tools like Falco.
