What you will do

• Define and lead architectural strategy for generative AI across the platform, enabling scalable solutions.
• Design AI platform layer including model orchestration, RAG patterns, evaluation pipelines, and responsible AI guardrails.
• Establish experimentation frameworks to test and optimize AI models, prompts, and retrieval strategies.
• Develop evaluation standards and feedback loops for AI output quality and performance.
• Drive build-vs-buy decisions and partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Data teams.
• Lead Architecture Review Board, establish standards, patterns, and mitigate architectural risks.

Requirements

• 10+ years software engineering experience, including principal or staff architect role designing cloud-native systems.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying LLM-based applications: vector databases, embedding pipelines, RAG, model evaluation, responsible AI, data governance.
• Cross-functional leadership: translate business needs to technical solutions, influence without authority, mentor engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience in EdTech, higher education, or scaled SaaS multi-tenant platforms.
• Familiarity with data/AI platforms like Databricks or building internal developer platforms.
• Experience leading technology transformation and adoption.
