Senior Java Developer (Java): Building and maintaining internal and external Java web-based applications for the NASA SEWP Program with an accent on usability, performance, and software integrity. Location: Must be based in Greenbelt, MD, USA (Minimum 4 days per week on-site)

Salary: $130,000 - $150,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop and implement new Java web applications for the NASA SEWP Program.
• Maintain and optimize existing web-based applications for better usability and performance.
• Perform peer code reviews and comprehensive testing, including unit, integration, regression, and performance tests.
• Participate in all SDLC phases from requirements gathering to production launch.
• Collaborate with application developers, database and systems administrators, and internal stakeholders.
• Provide Level II technical customer support via phone, email, and ServiceNow.

Requirements

• US Citizen or Naturalized Citizen with ability to obtain Public Trust.
• Must work on-site in Greenbelt, MD, at least 4 days per week.
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience developing Java web-based applications.
• 5+ years of experience working with Oracle databases and writing SQL queries.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with JSP, Spring Web Framework, and RESTful Web Services.
• Proficiency with CSS, HTML, JSON, and XML.
• Knowledge of JBoss, Hibernate, myBATIS, Maven, and rich AJAX web applications.
• Experience with GIT and Agile development processes.
