TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (Java): Leading the implementation of a modern client communications platform using Vermillion Reporting Services with an accent on cloud-based architecture and legacy system migration. Location: Must be based in Houston, Texas (Hybrid: 4 days per week in-office required).

What you will do

  • Lead the engineering effort to implement and transition to the Vermillion Reporting Services platform.
  • Mentor team members, oversee code quality, and manage technical project deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain scalable, cloud-based solutions using Java, Spring, and AWS.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs.
  • Ensure robust API integration using REST and GraphQL standards.
  • Support the full software development lifecycle, including testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.

Requirements

  • Must be based in Houston, Texas and able to work in-office 4 days per week.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in software engineering.
  • Expertise in Java, Spring, Mulesoft, and AWS.
  • Proven experience in technical team leadership.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD tools (Jenkins), and Git.
  • Experience developing and consuming REST or GraphQL APIs.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Scaled Agile framework.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an IT-related program.
