What you will do

• Drive the technical direction and long-term strategy for the Fraud Detection platform.
• Architect highly available and performant backend services to handle large-scale ad traffic.
• Lead the end-to-end software development lifecycle for critical safety projects from concept to delivery.
• Mentor and coach other engineers to foster a culture of technical excellence and proactive problem-solving.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Policy, and Legal teams to ensure fraud countermeasures meet all stakeholder needs.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of leading large-scale technical projects.
• Expertise in large-scale distributed systems and developing reliable backend services.
• Proficiency in at least one general-purpose language (Go, Python, Scala, Java, or C++) with the ability to grow expertise in Python and Go.
• Demonstrated ability to disambiguate complex problems and align stakeholders with different priorities.
• Must be based in British Columbia, Canada.

Nice to have

• Previous success in an Ads team with a user base in the millions.
• Direct experience in Ads Fraud, Ad review, or Ads Brand Safety.
• Proven track record of utilizing LLMs in production systems.
• Prior experience specifically in the Fraud/Malicious actors space.
