What you will do

• Perform regular maintenance, tune database settings, and monitor performance to ensure fast query responses.
• Implement database changes to improve performance, including developing sharding and indexing policies.
• Collaborate with software architects, engineers, and SREs to align database operations with overall system architecture.
• Contribute to database strategy, innovating in architecture and security while setting data protection standards.
• Define, enforce, and document database policies and procedures to ensure organizational consistency.

Requirements

• Proven experience in database design, implementation, and maintenance within high-availability environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL administration and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in SQL and procedural SQL, specifically PostgreSQL's PL/PgSQL.
• Strong command-line skills in Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting for automation.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills for stakeholder collaboration.
• Must be based in Brazil.

Nice to have

• Experience managing PostgreSQL instances using Amazon RDS and Amazon Aurora.
• Proficiency in containerizing PostgreSQL using Docker and Docker Compose.
• Experience with GitHub tools.
