Senior Automation Engineer (Automotive)

TL;DR

Senior Automation Engineer (Vision/Robotics): Supporting a vehicle assembly facility and manufacturing processes with an accent on vision engineering and electrical support. Focus on developing automated error-proofing initiatives, managing electrical projects, and troubleshooting complex manufacturing equipment.

What you will do

• Provide vision engineering and electrical support for vehicle assembly manufacturing processes.
• Implement automated error-proofing initiatives using vision systems and advanced automation technologies.
• Manage electrical projects, including new installations, operational improvements, and periodic repairs.
• Provide technical support, direction, and training to personnel and skilled trades.
• Develop cost estimates, investment forecasts, and business cases for project activities.
• Coordinate with manufacturing engineers on new model process and equipment planning.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with Vision systems.
• Ability to program and troubleshoot Vision systems (Fanuc, Matrox, Liberty, Ines, etc.).
• Ability to troubleshoot FANUC robots and Rockwell/Allen Bradley ControlLogix processors.
• Ability to read and modify electrical prints and troubleshoot equipment-level networks.
• Must be willing to work any shift and daily or weekend overtime to support production.
• Must not require immigration sponsorship (H-1B, TN, STEM OPT, etc.) now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience working in automotive assembly.
• Experience with software and functionality in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
