Calibration Technician

TL;DR

Calibration Technician (Mechanical/Metrology): Calibration of mechanical inspection, measuring and testing equipment in the field at customers’ locations with an accent on hardness testers, optical comparators, torque tools, pressure gauges, and force equipment. Focus on performing precise on-site calibrations, ensuring equipment accuracy, and meeting customer demands under tight schedules.

Location: Based in Syracuse, NY; requires travel to customer sites. U.S. Persons only (ITAR requirements); clean driving record required.

Salary: $25.00 - $35.00 Hourly

What you will do

• Calibrate mechanical inspection, measuring, and testing equipment including hardness testers, optical comparators, surface plates, and tensile testers.
• Calibrate torque drivers, wrenches, analyzers, pressure gauges, temperature, and force equipment.
• Travel on-site to customers’ locations for fieldwork, working independently or with team.
• Meet customer demands, including overtime and 40+ hour weeks.

Requirements

• 2-6+ years experience in mechanical measuring, inspection, and testing equipment calibration; experience using such equipment also considered.
• Commercial or military experience; PMEL a plus.
• Good verbal/written communication, computer skills, and interpersonal skills; self-starter.
• Able to lift 60 pounds, provide own cell phone with data plan, pass background check, drug screen, and have clean driving record.
