TL;DR

HW System Integrator / HW Architect (Automotive): Realize telematics and connectivity functions in automotive IVI and telematics systems, including assessment of requirements and feasibility, definition of concepts, implementation, and verification. Focus on designing HW schematics for RF/analogue/digital blocks, performing technical measurements, and collaborating with cross-functional global teams on high-complexity automotive ECUs.

Hybrid in Ulm or Karlsbad, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Availability to work flexibly from office and remotely on-demand. Willingness to travel within Germany & international (10-25%) required.

What you will do

• Provide technical assistance to HW Project Leader on requirements analysis, feasibility assessments, BOM estimates, and cost-down measures for telematics/connectivity blocks.
• Conceive, design, and integrate HW schematics for Telematics/Connectivity systems considering new technologies, quality, cost, and automotive standards.
• Support requirement engineering, change management, DFMEA, and documentation using hirify.global tools like Doors, DNG, ALM.
• Define, guide, and conduct technical measurements (functional, performance, power, EMC, thermal) for verification including real customer use cases.
• Assist in technical specifications for purchased parts, supplier evaluation, and act as interface to domains, customers, and suppliers.
• Collaborate globally with system design, construction, quality, manufacturing, procurement, and software teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years experience in HW development, verification, and industrialization of automotive infotainment, telematics, or similar ECUs.
• Experience in analogue, digital, and RF design; expert knowledge of automotive EMC requirements.
• Proficiency with schematic/layout tools (e.g., Mentor Graphics, SPICE) and Microsoft applications; knowledge of defect management (e.g., Jira).
• Strong verbal and written English skills.
• Analytical problem-solving, effective communication, and ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Experience in wireless applications (e.g., mobile networks) and telematics systems.
• Requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, DNG, ALM).
