Principal Engineer, System Validation Concept (ADAS): Developing strategies and concepts to integrate, verify, and validate ADAS/AD systems with an accent on system-level testing, safety standards, and validation ecosystems. Focus on designing scalable integration concepts for Central Compute Units and automating workflows using AI.

What you will do

• Develop strategies and concepts for integrating, verifying, and validating ADAS/AD systems per industry standards and best practices.
• Define and manage ecosystems for system integration, including HiL, simulation environments, and test tracks.
• Collaborate with SMEs and partners to design ADAS/AD systems for Cockpit Domain Controllers and central compute units.
• Create structured test cases for functional, performance, SOTIF, and safety aspects, integrating AI for automation.
• Manage logistical and technical alignments for test vehicle authorization and certification across geographies.
• Conduct hands-on testing, performance benchmarking, and vehicle-level log analysis.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or comparable experience.
• 5+ years of experience in system integration and V&V of safety-critical ADAS/AD systems (e.g., Highway Assist, Automated Parking).
• Expertise in system-level testing tools like CANoe, CANape, Matlab/Simulink, and Python.
• Strong understanding of ISO26262 (Functional Safety), ISO21448 (SOTIF), and ISO21434 (Cybersecurity).
• Knowledge of in-vehicle communication protocols: CAN, Flexray, Automotive Ethernet, GMSL.
• Willingness to work in the office at Garching and travel up to 20% (domestic and international).

Nice to have

• Technical leadership experience and the ability to motivate and inspire people.
• ISTQB Certified Tester - Foundation Level or comparable certification.
• Advanced knowledge of ADAS/AD sensors, actuators, and scenario-based testing.
• Valid class B driving license, high-dynamic driving, and ADAS failure injection certifications.
