TL;DR

Software Engineer (Embedded C++): Designing and developing firmware features and application-layer logic for next-generation medical devices with an accent on C++, Python scripting, and CI/CD integration. Focus on ensuring code quality through unit testing and collaborating in an Agile environment to deliver safety-critical medical software.

Location: Hybrid in Sydney, Australia (2–3 days in-office per week). Valid Australian work rights are required.

What you will do

  • Design, develop, and test embedded software in C++ for firmware and application layers.
  • Utilize Python for scripting, tooling, and automation support.
  • Collaborate in Agile teams using GitHub/Bitbucket, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Contribute to CI efforts by improving Jenkins workflows and writing maintainable code.
  • Ensure high software quality through rigorous code reviews, unit testing, and debugging.
  • Translate customer requirements into technical specifications and functional solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in embedded software or application development.
  • Strong proficiency in C++ with solid knowledge of design and data structures.
  • Exposure to Python and a willingness to ramp up skills in scripting.
  • Experience with Agile development and CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
  • Valid Australian work rights.

Nice to have

  • Experience in regulated or safety-critical industries, such as medical devices or automotive systems.
  • Knowledge of test-driven development (TDD) practices.
  • Proactive attitude toward adopting new tools and frameworks to improve team productivity.
