Software Engineer, Collections Experience

San Francisco, California or New York, New York. Hybrid: required in-office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays (Anchor Days). Certain teams may require additional in-office days.

$272,000 - $320,000 per year (San Francisco or New York City).

What you will do

• Design and ship new database properties and views to expand modeling capabilities.
• Build permission models scalable for largest customers.
• Partner with Agent team to enhance AI capabilities with databases, including tool development and eval-driven iteration.
• Collaborate with product and design on ambiguous features requiring technical judgment.
• Improve code review, testing, and technical design standards across the team.

Requirements

• 10+ years shipping production software, owning features end-to-end
• Fluency with TypeScript across backend and frontend
• Strong product instincts for vague problems, technical proposals, and scoping
• Experience with systems where data model decisions have long-term impact (databases, permissions, collaborative editing)
• Curiosity and willingness to use AI tools

Nice to have

• Experience building database, spreadsheet, or workflow tools
• Background in permissions or authorization at scale
• Familiarity with AI/agent tooling, evals, or LLM-driven experiences
