Software Engineer, Collections Experience

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, California or New York, New York

Base salary: $213,000–$320,000 per year for roles based in San Francisco or New York City. Total compensation also includes equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and ship database properties and views that expand how customers model their work.
• Design permission models that support the scale and complexity of large customers.
• Partner with the Agent team on database tools and evaluation-driven product iteration.
• Build full-stack features in TypeScript across the data model and user interface.
• Collaborate with product and design to scope ambiguous problems and choose strong technical approaches.
• Improve code review, testing, and technical design practices across the team.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience shipping production software and owning features end to end.
• Fluency with TypeScript across backend and frontend development.
• Strong product judgment and the ability to turn vague problems into practical technical approaches.
• Experience with systems where data model decisions have long-term consequences, such as databases, permissions, or collaborative editing.
• Curiosity about AI tools and willingness to use them to improve engineering outcomes.

Nice to have

• Experience building database, spreadsheet, or workflow tools.
• Experience with permissions or authorization systems at scale.
• Familiarity with AI or agent tooling, evaluations, or LLM-driven product experiences.
