What you will do

• Design, develop, integrate, and maintain low-level CPU software in Arista products.
• Develop automated tests using C, C++, and Python to validate features.
• Work with hardware engineers and vendors to qualify new CPUs and components.
• Track Linux kernel developments and contribute to upstream open source BIOS communities.
• Review specifications, analyze customer and test issues, and provide fixes.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.

Requirements

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science/Electrical/Computer Engineering + 8/6/3 years experience or equivalent.
• Expert C programming; C++ and Python desirable.
• Experience in CPU firmware, BIOS, boot loader design/development and bringing up new CPU boards.
• Hands-on debugging and fixing low-level CPU firmware/BIOS/boot loader issues.
• Familiarity with x86/ARM architectures; Linux kernel, IP networking desirable.
• Strong problem-solving, software design skills, and ability to work independently/in teams.
